[Solved] New graphic card: Gnome in fallback mode only!

Hi all,

I switched my graphic card from nvidia (GeForce 8800GTS 512) to radeon (Asus EAH5450 Silent), I used the wiki to install the x86-video-ati open source driver and configure them, but Gnome starts in fallback mode only!

Any hints?

Thanks!
Chris

Re: [Solved] New graphic card: Gnome in fallback mode only!

It seems the problem is libnvidia! ~/.xsession-errors:

/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
localuser:chris being added to access control list
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: /usr/bin/ssh-agent -- gnome-session
/usr/lib/gnome-session/gnome-session-check-accelerated-helper: error while loading shared libraries: libnvidia-tls.so.295.20: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
gnome-session-check-accelerated: Helper exited with code 32512
gnome-session[1071]: WARNING: Session 'gnome' runnable check failed: Abort with Code 1

I removed nvidia and nvidia-utils with pacman before install the ati stuff! How can I resolve this problem with libnvidia?

Re: [Solved] New graphic card: Gnome in fallback mode only!

Error found: Symlink to an orphaned nvidia file! It works now!
