Boot Messages Continue into Arch Login Screen

Hi -
I'm having some trouble with my machine after the recent upgrade to 3.3.4.1. I'm running an i686 setup and have an encrypted lvm for my filesystem.

After upgrading, the log messages shown during boot increased about 4x (the one's showing system uptime, not simply the status message of various modules). Nonetheless, it clears the messages and jumps to the ttyl-1 login screen. However then the messages continue populating the username text area and the password text areas. I have to type quickly between messages to get past them to start X - and here I am.

The system appears to run fine after this, but it's clearly not running as it should. I've tried debugging the boot to some extent and can post the log data below. In reviewing the verbose dmesg.log output, nothing appears particularly out of place (though admittedly I'm not that familiar with reading the logs).

However reviewing /var/log/messages.log, it looks to be upon network settings that things begin to jump around. I use wicd as my network manager, however I haven't made any changes to settings there. I thought maybe I'd need to load the wicd module in the background, to help this, though it doesn't seem to do anything for this problem. I've also recompiled the b43 driver after the linux upgrade just in case that had any impact.

Thanks for any help and pls let me know if you need to see other conf files.
Cheers
