I just did a pacman -Suy and rebooted. Now my system freezes randomly. What should i do?

Without more details, noone will be able to give any usefull advice.
Start off with having a look at which packages were upgraded, go through the various logs in /var/log and look for any errors/warnings.

If you're sure that your issues are similar to the ones in the thread litemotiv linked (you should be able to find the log entries in /var/log/kernel.log); then you can find instructions to downgrade the kernel here.

eh sorry for posting back so soon but unfortunately i cleaned my cache and i can not retrieve an older kernel version. any ideas on where i can find one?
