siglevel=0???

Hi all. New to Arch Linux, but not Linux itself. I did the install as per the guide. I have three questions though now.

1) The Manual said something about setting pacman.conf to siglevel=0. I did that, and the install went fine, but should I now be returning it to a different state?

2) During installation, I went w/ XFCE4. I was unable to get it working until I gave .xsession rwxr-xr-x. Is that a security issue? If so, solution?

3) /etc/hosts - it has the normal loopback line, but underneath it is the line-
       ::1   localhost.localdomain     localhost
     Is that normal and/or required?

Thanks

Re: siglevel=0???

You should only post one subject per thread, makes things less confusing later when people search, especially if two of your topics have nothing to do with the title.

1) Read about package signatures https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman-key
2) don't know anything about XFCE and don't have a .xsession file to compare
3) Same as in mine, pretty sure it's the default.  There could be some programs that use that kind of notation

3. That line is for ipv6 (::1 is the loopback address in ipv6). I have updated the Beginners' Guide

2.  Who owns that file?  I'll bet it is root.  Those config files in $HOME should be yours.

TY for the reply and the pointer to the answer. Sorry for multi subject, as your point is quite valid of course.
