Macbook Pro 8.1 Power Consumption

Recently purchase a macbook pro 8.1, With core i5 SB and intel HD3000, Hardware i s great but, battery life is shorter than OSX, powertop reports idle at 9W, i install laptop-mode, jupiter, using power on demand and add

pcie_aspm=force i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 i915.i915_enable_fbc=1 i915.lvds_downclock=1 usbcore.autosuspend=1 hpet=force

To kernel parameter on grub.cfg. But cant get    lower idle consumption (bluetooth is off, wifi on). Arch is running on Efi Mode

I install arch on a similar laptop, a lenovo t420i, corei5 SB, HD Graphics, bluetooth off, wifi on, and the idle consumtion goes down to 5W!!!, and has same software, same kernel parameters....

Why this difference?

Macbooks users: What are your idle consumption?

Re: Macbook Pro 8.1 Power Consumption

There is a difference because when running mac os x as opposed to windows and/or linux on your macbook, your cpu is clocked etc and the only way you can unclock it AFAIK is that you work for apple and wrote the code that does this.

Different display? Different wifi chip?

Around 8.5W on a Macbook Air 4,2.

Did you manage to do something about it? I'm in the same situation, and it's frustrating! sad
