[SOLVED] - HP LaserJet Professional M1212nf MFP and cups woes

Got an HP LaserJet Professional M1212nf MFP which simply refuses to play with hp-lip and cups. Printer is on 192.168.178.20

1. am member of the lp group
2. edited cups.conf according to the wiki
3. changed symlink from python 3 to 2.7
4. made sure dbus, avahi and cups are running
5. started hp-setup -i

and get the following:

What is really funky though is the CUPS error.log. Here an excerpt:

Tried to reinstall all foomatic stuff, cups and hplip but the problem persisted. More googling and it turned out that I could simply use the ancient laserjet4 driver using the cups browser interface

Bah! Turned out somebody else was printing a test page at the same time - and I thought it was mine Status back to unsolved.

I can't believe it, should ideally shoot myself in the head. The printer got a new ip address and my /etc/cups/client.conf was still pointing to the old one...
