I am using gnome-gdm_X86-x64 on my recently installed Arch_x64. I have worked out most of the newb new install issues with the help of Forum Search and Arch WIKI.
However, I am unable to figure out or find help with the MUTED VOLUME at boot or system start. It is also muted on the login screen. Once manually Unmuted All Sound works.
I have tried every thing possible with the help found on forums and WIKI. What did I miss?
Need forum help in resolving this issue.
Thanks..

Just a hunch you might have missed something in the wiki.

Nothing.
First of all
$ alsamixer [does not work... bash: alsamixer: command not found]
but
$ gnome-alsamixer [works and the mixer is displayed]
Secondly,
$ sudo alsactl store [does not work... sudo: alsactl: command not found] even,
$ sudo gnome-alsactl store [which I tried, does not work... sudo: gnome-alsactl: command not found]
When I try the instructions from the Wiki I am faced with the same
# alsactl -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state store
bash: alsactl: command not found
I have alsa added to my daemons.
What next?

Did you put alsa in your DAEMONS array in /etc/rc.conf?

As per the first instruction in the wiki, install alsa-utils...
I had alsa-utils installed as instructed in the wiki.
Just to be sure I uninstalled everything alsa and reinstalled alsa and rebooted.
Voila! it worked. Everything is working without any tweak or workaround.
Thank you all.
