[SOLVED] Can't play audio CDs in banshee

Audio CDs do not appear in banshee, nor does banshee manage to open cds through Media -> Open Location -> /dev/cdrom or /dev/sr0. CDs do however play fine in vlc. The audio cd appears in dolphin but I can't access it and doesn't show up at all in thunar which leads me to think that the problem is not exclusive to bashee.
I am running arch 64 with e17. Any suggestions?

Re: [SOLVED] Can't play audio CDs in banshee

Its appears to be fixed! Cds now display in banshee though I'm not sure exactly why... I have just installed gnome-do, and with it plenty of gnome related dependencies, my only guess is that I was perhaps missing a libary or two.

Edit: Fix is nothing with gnome-do installation. Banshee seems to only function correctly when started via

dbus-launch banshee

The reason banshee started to miraculously work after the installation of gnome-do is that I was starting gnome-do with dbus-launch. Hence when banshee is launched from gnome-do it worked.
