configuration management

Hi all,

Is there a configuration management application that we can install to manage sample configuration files as well as merging of new files with the current 'live' ones?

Re: configuration management

I use extra/mercurial.  Git would work just as well.  If I do something I regret, I can always pull up an old config.

This may not have been what you were expecting, but trust me ... It works like a charm.

Re: configuration management

Hi ewaller,

Ok, I used git in the past.  I was thinking about writing a tool of some sorts that could be integrated into pacman as when you do updates, you really need to cover all bases of an update, the configuration is part of that.
