Idea: Arch Studio

Does anybody know SUSE Studio? It's a really cool web application which allows you to create your own flavor of OpenSUSE. So I got the idea of creating an 'Arch Studio' which allows you to create your own flavor of Arch Linux. I think that even for the experienced Arch user, such a tool would be quite handy when creating a live system.

For the client side of it:
- In essence the web app will allow you to:
   - Manage some basic options like users, locale, deamons, ...
   - Install packages
   - Create/hack other packages
- Then, accordingly to what you you have installed, more options will be possible:
   - Change look and feel (requires KDE, gnome, xfce, ...)
   - sshd settings (requires sshd)
   - and even more... (requires even more tongue )

For the server side of it:
- The client actually creates a (XML?) file, with all settings, chosen packages and artwork in it
- The client chooses an build mode (Live, live with installer, installer)
- The file comes on a list, when the server has done creating the package before it, it starts creating yours
- The server creates it (accordingly to what the user choosed as build mode)
- Clients gets his iso file, client is happy smile

I would be glad to here your opinions and thoughts about this, as well as technical tips.

There's AIF, the simple Arch installer https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AI … ation_File and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Archiso but it's not a point-and-click affair.

Arch Iso would be very handy in generating an iso from what the client configured, so I'll take a look at it.
