Hi,
I've followed the wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI to get HDMI to work with my archlinux computer, dedicated to run XBMC. At first, I used the integrated graphic card with my AMD 3870 processor and its HDMI output and everything was perfect.
I had a spare HD 6870 so I thought I had to put it inside rather than letting it rot. Some xorg.conf change, and after the creation of /etc/asound.conf (I had to set the HD6870 as the primary HDMI output) I had both sound and image using HDMI on my HD 6870.
I later could see some major problem, during some music or movie I lost video and audio signal and when it returned, video was as always but I didn't have anymore sound through the HD 6870 HDMI output.
I'm using catalyst driver by adding http://catalyst.apocalypsus.net/repo/catalyst/$arch repository.
Whenever posssible I'll add any command result necessary to solve this problem, thanks.
