I download the package from the AUR, untar it and run makepkg -s and all I get is this message:
mv: cannot stat `opt/google': No such file or directory
Aborting...
Any ideas?

Hi there,
Please try installing chrome using the following command:
pacman -S chromium
Chrome is already in the official repository.

Chromium and google-chrome aren't quite the same, as the latter has some proprietary parts added by Google, such as inline display of pdfs.
Have you tried creating the directory /opt/google before doing the install? (as root: mkdir /opt/google)

You can install aur/chromium-browser-libpdf as a separate plugin for Chromium, or the Docs PDF/PowerPoint Viewer extension to open PDF's in Google Docs/Drive.

@DarkCerberus: What djraymondnm said.
@djraymondnm: Yes. The directory exists.
The only reason I'm trying to install google-chrome is because the chromium package is too unstable (crashes for w/e reason, doesn't display some pages correctly i.e. I can't see facebook's news feed).
Right now I'm using chromium-browser-bin package but I'd like to install google-chrome's to see if I can get rid of the constant annoyances.
Thank you all for your prompt replies and help so far.

You can try a package from an unofficial repo https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Un … positories
* adslgr32 google-chrome-beta 10.0.648.151-1
* adslgr32 google-chrome-dev 11.0.696.14-1
* archstuff google-chrome-beta 8.0.552.28-1
* archstuff google-chrome-dev 9.0.597.0-1
* march google-chrome-no-gconf stable-1
Apart from the last one (I've installed it and it's version 17), they all are rather old.
If you're having problems with an AUR package, post in the comments https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=37469
