Isn't that slightly contradictory? The PKGBUILD you mentioned will use the http download, so it won't torrent it. Personally, I think it would be better if people just downloaded the game, put it in the makepkg directory and installed it that way.

In fact, to allow frontends like yaourt to be able to install the game, maybe an environment variable with the directory where you download the game to would be better, then it can look in that directory for the game. Something like source=( "file://$_humblebundlevdir/GAME_ARCHIVE.tar.gz" )

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

If Bastion is slow when there is rain on screen (as it is with my intel gpu), you can remove all rain/snow and other particles by changing Content/Game/FlyerSettings.xml and setting all MaxFlyers="0".

sed -i 's/MaxFlyers=".*/MaxFlyers="0"/g' Content/Game/FlyerSettings.xml

Previously it was just $HOME, so +1 from me, but! It would be much better to use that variable for all hib bundles not only "V"

Someone has got an idea on how to solve this?

Additionally I'm also stuck at the blank screen with Bastion... :-|

Same problem here.

+1 for the Limbo problem, didn't try Bastion yet

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

As I installed Bastion to /usr/local/{bin,games}, I had to chown the directory to $USER:users to be able to play it, runs smoothly now. Great job of those guys!

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

For bastion, drop your .sh into the pkgbuild and it should build https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=59685

modeled it after the amnesia-tdd one, if you see any error please post a comment, I am going to add the _humblebundlecode thing in a second and resubmit

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

Bastion works for me, although there are graphical artifacts when in fullscreen mode which go away in windowed mode.

Not recognizing either of my gamepads. I get "no gamepad found" despite definitely seeing my gamepad's events using jstest and functionality elsewhere. Ideas?

Hi. I had the same problem, solved with a regular WINE installation. Just go to limbo/support/limbo/drive_c/Program\ Files/limbo and throw a wine limbo.exe, that did the trick for me.

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

To all of the packagers: Could you include "humble" somewhere in your description? I really prefer being able to search for humble rather than individual game names (especially when different people break up multi-word titles differently).

Thanks for your effort, in any case.

To fix Bastion on Intel integrated cards, do something like the following:

force_s3tc_enable=true ./Bastion.bin.x86_64

Setting this environment variable enables a specific texture compression algorithm in the video driver.  With this, the game runs great on my Intel chipset.

That also helps for Radeon GPUs with open source drivers.

This fixed it on my ATI card with the radeon driver too, was having black screen before but now it works smile

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

Artemis, I had the same error, and solved it by installing the 32-bit version of my video drivers. For example, if you have intel-dri, you'd need lib32-intel-dri.

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

Bastion now works perfectly when I use force_s3tc_enable=true. So now Bastion and Swords and Sworcery work for me. Psychonauts gets further than the Double Fine logo with force_s3tc_enable=true, but the sound is terrible, and when I try to skip the introduction it freezes, and I have to go into a tty to kill it. Has anyone got Psychonauts working yet?

I have. I've done nothing special, though, I just installed the game, launched it and huzzah. But it crashes often randomly (the game just stops, console message are kind of cryptic) and I sometimes have no sound when playing animated scenes.

What GPU are you using and which drivers (proprietary/OSS)?

nVidia with proprietary drivers for my 8600MGT. About the sound, I'm not sure which one is used, since I've both Alsa and Pulse installed.

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

Ok, I have solved the crashing Limbo on x86_64 by doing an alternate launch script and PKGBUILD.
It uses the installed Wine instead of CrossOver.

Works great on my computer, feel free to test it and give feedback smile

Important : if you already tried to launch Limbo from the AUR PKGBUILD or the HIB archive, remove your $HOME/.limbo folder before use my PKGBUILD.

You can download the files here : http://mirandir.pagesperso-orange.fr/fi … src.tar.gz

Just a note for anybody who would like to see Desura support for the games in the latest Humble Bundle, please see this regarding contacting the developers.

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

Anyone had any luck getting Psychonauts to run acceptably on an Intel chip? It installed fine for me, and it started up after I disable some options in the configuration.ini file, but I get an abysmal framerate anywhere but the pause menu. I have an i5 Sandybridge with Intel HD 3000, and the latest drivers and whatnot installed.

Bastion and Swords & Sorcery EP both work out of the box as far as I can tell, at least.

Doesn't work with OSS Radeon drivers, 86_64bit system, still getting the

Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0xffffffff in 32-bit code (0x7da31535)

error.

Tried with and without force_s3tc_enable, no difference.

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle V

Can you try this :

- delete your $HOME/.limbo folder.
- run the 'limbo' command in a terminal and see if errors are displayed ?

This PKGBUILD works for me but I use AMD/ATI fglrx driver.
