Slim will not start open box session, blank screen [Solved]

Hello everyone! Im trying to get arch up and running on a spare pc and i just cant get SLiM to start an openbox session. Im not sure what im doing wrong. Once I login, it shows a blank screen with an "X" coursor. I have searched around, but was unable to turn anything of use up. Here is my .xinitrc file;

#!/bash/sh
exec ck-launch-session openbox-session

I find it very hard to believe you searched around at all and didn't find the solution. This has been covered ad naseum (and then some!) in the forums over the past several weeks.

Edit: Ah hell, I'm feeling generous - or foolish: remove the ck-launch part of the line.

And please search the forums first for future problems. Admittedly the forum search function isn't always very good, but google can use "site:bbs.archlinux.org" to limit searches to this forum.

I used the search function here on the forums and haven’t found anything... I've been trying to get this system working for about two days now. Do you think you would be able to link to some of the threads that cover this topic that you mention. I will continue searching for a solution as I have been, thanks for the help.

Thanks for the idea! However removing ck-launch from the .xinitrc did not work... I have been searching the forums, I'm still coming up empty

Just to add, I have tried removing "ck-launch" as well as "ck-launch-session". I was unsure what you meant, but neither worked.

UPDATE: Tired a few more things, still nothing working...

Tried, removing SLiM from the demons list, and have the runlevel at 5, didnt work, went to runlevel 3
Tried, keeping SLiM in the demons list and having the runlevel at 3, didnt work same problem as original
Tried useing; x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/slim >/dev/null 2>&1 , just asked for a runlevel at boot...

UPDATE, again:

Got this from /var/log/slim.log; still not sure what todo, but hopefully someone else will;

slim: open_session: Unable to open session: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file for direcroty

dbus is upto date ( dbus-1.4.20-1 )
