How can I install GRUB to a partition?

I used to dual-boot Windows 7 and Arch by installing GRUB to the root partition and then using EasyBCD in Windows to point the Windows bootloader to Arch. Now the only option I have when I'm installing GRUB is to put it in the MBR of the drive. Is there any way around this?

I have a sneaky suspicion you may not have read the Arch Wiki article about Grub where it tells you how to install it to a partition

Just a hunch
