Hi there,
I'm new to Arch linux and while this is not my first installation of Arch linux, this is my first where i intend to use it as my main distribution instead of just testing it. I installed KDE but i have a problem with polkit-kde - when i need to change some of my system settings it asks for my regular user password instead of my root password and i want it to ask about the root user password. I've encountered this problem before (again in Arch in one of my previous installs) and i managed to fix it because i found a bug report or forum thread about the issue on google. However i've been searching for an hour or so on the problem and can't seem to find the article which explains how to change policy kit's behaviour. It's not really a bug but simple a default setting which i want to change.
So does anyone know how to make polkit-kde ask for the root user password instead of my normal user password.
Best regards and thanks to anyone who answers this!

From this topic
polkit works in the same way sudo does. is asking for your password if the user is in wheel group,
otherwise is asking for root password.

Thanks for the reply. Removing my user from the wheel group fixed the problem. I am kind of surprised though - i always thought that the wheel group is used to select which users can use "su" to become root. I was afraid that i wouldn't be able to use su after i removed my user from the wheel group but that was not the case - i can still use su.

GNU su does not use the wheel group.
