Scratchy garbled audio capture on Soundblaster 24-bit live

my mic is not muted, my capture is all the way up, and i can hear it, but what i hear is distorted garbage.. and sometimes it seems it wants to sound good, maybe a bad connection...

dont turn it too high, it will usually cause distortion, try about 80%

odd... i meant to post a reply but it came up as a topic.. and turning it to 80% doesnt help, its really scratchy quality.... I have a Soundblaster 24-bit live card

like everything sounds artificial


here i recorded a clip

i have to really strain my mixer volume to get volume even with the card all the way up
