pacman error on new install

hello all

pacman is complaining that "database file for 'community' does not exist" aand then refusing to do anything as it can't find the database.

This may be due to me not selecting something during the install. Can I get Pacman to generate this file or is there a way add it?

that solved that one smile - getting failures due to PGP signatures -"/etc/pacman.d/gnupg/pubring.gpg" is not readable: no such file or directory

do i have to generate a key pair ?

Re: pacman error on new install

i shall proceed to it with haste - unfamiliar terms was typing packman-key --init  and getting command not found! Bit late may try for x and a desktop in the morning.

Thanks smile
