New Wine supersized my MS Office [SOLVED]

Hello,

I just installed the newest wine version 1.5.6-1 and suddenly my Office 2007 looks terrible.
Even deleted .wine and everything and did everything with a fresh install, because I was expecting
the wine-mono package which it now prompts to install to have caused this. But even without
wine mono installation I end up with the following picture.

Before that Office 2007 behaved just like on native windows.
Anyone has an idea on how to fix it?

Kind Regards,

Re: New Wine supersized my MS Office [SOLVED]

I'm guessing Wine is running in a different resolution (like 640x800). Either that, or somehow Office thinks it's in High Contrast Mode for the Visually Impared.
That's the only two I can think of.

Re: New Wine supersized my MS Office [SOLVED]

The strange thing that it's only the ribbon part of the application that is to big. The cells and everything is normal.
One other windows application that I use has the same problem. It is an application with child windows within the
main program and only the window title part with close and minimize buttons is to big. Rest is normal.

Re: New Wine supersized my MS Office [SOLVED]

bug confirmed hmm
I already downgraded to the previous version in my working machine.
Will investigate further and then open a bug in the wine bug tracker, assuming no one does before.

Someone who's having the bug needs to report it, else it'll likely take a while to be found/fixed. Arch gets new wine packages faster than other distros, after all (generally).

reported: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30960

if someone knows how to set the affected apps or which wine specific component is affected by the bug, please add the relevant information to the bug report or let me know here so that I can update it.

edit: gosh, it was a duplicate of this: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30869 already fixed. Or so they say wink

Re: New Wine supersized my MS Office [SOLVED]

New Version 1.5.7 fixed it for me.

Can others confirm so I can tag it as SOLVED.

Re: New Wine supersized my MS Office [SOLVED]

solved here, but when i first ran wine it asked me to download mono and gecko even if both are installed via the wine_gecko and mono packages. Probably a completely unrelated issue, btw

Re: New Wine supersized my MS Office [SOLVED]

It always does that even thou none of my applications seem to need it. I've seen an articel on the internet on how to disable theses prompts.
Also I'm sure I did let it install Wine Gecko at one point but it doesn't seem to remember it and asks me again and again when a new version comes out.I think it's safe to just click "abort" everytime it is prompted as you can install it later when you really need it anyway.
