[solve]Sound problems on thinkpad t410 (too quiet/buttons not working)

My laptop sound is very quiet.  I've tried fiddling with alsamixer and when I turn `master` up to 100 the headphones are ...somewhat audible.

I'm not sure where to poke first, so here is some output of commands:

Here is amixer, -- note, i turned it down to 55% while i was tinkering, so i know its not at 100 in the settings below:

hahahaha herp.  my headphones have a volume control that was turned down.
