USB Mouse Detection Issue

I have this issue where after I boot unless I plug in and unplug my mouse it won't work. It is a wireless logitech marithon mouse (great mouse by the way). Okay so here is the deal: I had to put the usb transmitter back together. I put the end in a usb extension cord (so I can easily plug it in unplug it without disassembling it over and over (it was the only way)).

I was just wondering if instead of unplugging and plugging it back in (usually 3-5 times) to get it to register is there a command I can enter that would do the same thing. Some kind of command to re-detect usb or something.

Edit: I compared the loaded modules (working and not working) the only difference is:

evdev                   9754  8

to

evdev                   9754  9
