Input lag since nvidia update 302.17

Since I updated to nvidia 302.17 I notice an increase of input lag in gaming. I also tried using gnome 3 in fallback mode with the same results.
While playing QuakeLive the mouse and keyboard input is delayed. The framerate on the other hand is fine at 120 fps.
I noticed minor input lag differences between gnome 2 (where it was running perfectly fine) and gnome 3 with nvidia prior to 302.17. But now it's nearly unplayable. Can anyone confirm this issue or can give me some advice to tweak some settings.

My hardware:
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS using Gnome 3.4
