UEFI + Nvidia + Framebuffer (Solved)

Hey guys,

Having an issue with getting any framebuffer to work. I have uefi and grub2 and maybe think that mught be an issue somehow. After triying to get vesa to work with grub2 and it not working i moved on to uvesafb. I still have no luck. I have followed guides and this is the second pc with an nvidia graphocs card i have done. the first onw worked perfectly with vga=0x31b. So this is what im getting

1.602004] uvesafb: VBIOS/hardware doesn't support DDC transfers
[    1.602006] uvesafb: no monitor limits have been set, default refresh rate will be used
[    1.602243] uvesafb: scrolling: redraw
[    1.602247] uvesafb: cannot reserve video memory at 0xf1000000
[    1.602373] uvesafb: probe of uvesafb.0 failed with error -5

[   15.458823] NVRM: Your system is not currently configured to drive a VGA console
[   15.458830] NVRM: on the primary VGA device. The NVIDIA Linux graphics driver
[   15.458834] NVRM: requires the use of a text-mode VGA console. Use of other console
[   15.458838] NVRM: drivers including, but not limited to, vesafb, may result in
[   15.458841] NVRM: corruption and stability problems, and is not supported.

i could care less if its uvesafb or just vesa but i have a 32 inch monitor and cant stand the console!

Thank you i am backed in a corner here i just dont know what to try next?

Re: UEFI + Nvidia + Framebuffer (Solved)

UEFI is the proble, here :

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpos … stcount=13

This is only with properiety driver. Got rid of uefi and i am all good to go.

after doing everything to get it up and running it really isnt worth it anyway. I found no difference in boot times.. it was Horrible setup!

EDIT: Please however let me know if aanyone does have uefi and a framebuffer working in the console preferably with a splash.
