systemd rescue.target boots into DE

My system is working fine for the most part but I was trying to play a bit with e4rat to speed up my boot times. When I try to go into single user mode either by specifying 1 in grub or 'systemctl isolate rescue.target' it goes down to single user mode, as I see the message indicating so, but I don't get a prompt to type and a second or 2 later it boots into graphical mode. Can anyone tell my why and how to fix it?

I guess this is related to https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/28550

Copied over sulogin from another systemd and it worked, Too bad e4rat actually made my system boot slower.

Could you explain in details how you managed to solve this? I have the same problem.
