Binary compatibility of modules with a custom made kernel

I want to recompile my kernel (to enable UFS write support). Archlinux has a few packages providing kernel modules. I wonder if it is possible to keep the compatibility with these binary packages if I compile the exact same kernel that come with archlinux, besides some configuration options.

Re: Binary compatibility of modules with a custom made kernel

If the only difference between your custom kernel and the official one will be UFS write support, then you most likely won't experience any issues with those packages which load specific kernel modules in order to function.

Worst case scenario, you can always recompile those packages against your new kernel (using ABS for example).
