ArchLinux i586 reborn?
Hello,
I'm looking for a i586 GNU/Linux distribution.
I though about using ConnochaetOS since it's an Arch fork, but it has a series of flaws that I don't like.
I would like to know if any people though about reviving the i586 port of ArchLinux and what would it take to build/host the packages again.

I knew someone couldn't help but ask about the CPU I'm using. 
The CPU is a GXM - 266B 2.9V 85C. More precisely, I'll be using a Palmax PD-1100.
It's a neat little machine. Last time I used GNU/Linux on it, it said it was a i586 processor.
Not to mention that I'll be using onlt CLI software. X can run on this thing but it'll be useless.

It's not Arch, but according to Gentoo users, close behind.

Yeah, that page came up when I googled the hardware.
Updating Arch takes much less time - definitely not days ;P Running Gentoo on this slow computer might be a penance of sorts but it's as exciting as watching paint dry.

I know with a least having a more powerful Arch machine around, the ConnochaetOS install can go much quicker. Using pacman with the --arch=i586 and connochaetOS repositories can later be copied over, using a LiveCD to the older machine. I even saw an entry where this equipment was fine with OpenBSD. Chakra might be the other one.

Figured it was, wikipedia said it was IA32, so maybe we need to make it i686 so there's no question.

I stumbled onto a recommendation of gnu.org's: parabolalinux at parabolagnulinux.org. It has i586/i686/x86_64/mips64el architectures.
It even uses some of connochaetos repositories. Yes, parabolalinux is a libre.
