HP Compaq 6710s brightness fn-keys.

Since some time, I believe, since the last udev update the hotkeys for changing the monitor backlight stopped working. I can access and change the backlight through echo and laptop mode tools, but as far as I understood when I press the responsible keys (fn+f9 and fn+f10) udev doesn't even pick up a  scancode for those combinations. Before that everything was working perfectly.

To be honest, I am clueless how to restore the previous settings. Anyone?
