Wrong battery percentage indicator

It just happened again, kde (and acpi commend) reports a remaining percentage of 45%, but the netbook suddently power off and refuses to wake up again until connected to the mains.
Then it boots and reports a level of 51%, and so on.

Something is clearly wrong with the battery (i think i've not to blame the kernel here), the question is:
is there a way to have a real indicator of the remaining percentage?

Re: Wrong battery percentage indicator

I have similar problems - ocurrs randomly. I have KDE also and this appeared approximately 1 month ago.

Re: Wrong battery percentage indicator

kde is not the problem here, just booted xp that reported the same.
Probably the battery needs to be calibrated, but, someone corrects me if i'm wrong, to calibrate a battery it needs to be fully drained to 0%, but we cannot do it...
