kernel26-lts gone? [solved]

Greetings,

I am trying to use Paragon NTFS & HFS+ for Linux 8.x Express, however, it requires the 2.6 kernel -- kernel26-lts seems to be gone and replaced by kernel-lts which is a 3.0 kernel.  Is there any way to install a 2.6 kernel without having to compile it myself?  I looked at kernel.org and the latest stable is 2.6.35.13 however none of the AUR 2.6 kernels use this, they are all on .38 or newer -- plus i am not sure which is a good one to use.

Anyone out there using a 2.6 kernel still or have advice on how to go about getting one up and running?

If you install from the AUR, then you'll be compiling the kernels yourself anyway. If you need a specific kernel, grab a relevant AUR PKGBUILD and modify it to suit your needs.

"Compiling" isn't a dirty word. You can use the ABS/AUR to compile packages to your heart's content.

"Compiling" isn't a dirty word. You can use the ABS/AUR to compile packages to your heart's content.

I'm not afraid of compiling -- i'm a gentoo convert   however, i was hoping there was an easier way than to have to make my own kernel...  Where can i find the official .config from the last supported kernel26-lts package?

ARM has e.g. kernel26-lts-2.6.27.38-1 but http://www.archlinux.org/news/minimum-k … ment-2632/
It has kernel26-lts-2.6.32.xx versions too + you can pick the regular kernel26.

There is a rtai-kernel in the AUR, but it tries to include every architecture.  Maybe a modification of the PKGBUILD will get things down to size.

this looks PERFECT!!  the only other question i have then is are there such things as source packages?  i am trying to find the official PKGBUILD -- are those accessable via ARM?

according to that i have to:

Run abs as root to create the ABS tree by synchronizing it with the Arch Linux server.

is there any way to sync it with an ARM server instead?

You can get a single PKGBUILD of a specific version from the GIT repository:
