Been working on migrating stuff from rc.conf with the new upgrade and have hit a snag trying to set the clock to localtime.
I have no /etc/adjtime. And neither do I have a /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime file to fall back on. So I really have no idea about what kind of input and format is supposed to go in such a file.
Can someone provide a sample /etc/adjtime set for me to paste into my own system?
And also, is it weird that I don't have a /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime file? should I look into this?

Also have a look at "man hwclock", esp. section "The Adjust Function".
To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

The Beginner's Guide has directions on how to generate the /etc/adjtime file.

The beginners guide doesn't say what to do when any of the *ctl commands fail with the following output "Failed to issue method call: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 1".

If you are having this problem and are looking for a solution, search the forum. It has been discussed several times. Tacking a post onto the end of an almost 3-month old [SOLVED] topic is unlikely to help you.
If you are not having this problem and are simply suggesting that information needs to be added to the wiki, feel free to create an account and add it yourself. The wiki is a community effort.
