[SOLVED]Restore Grub2

Hi all,

I had an error with my Windows 7 - which restored MBR. I installed grub2 very recently, and it worked like a charm; but I can't seems to find details on how to restore it as I suspect it will be different than grub(1)

Many thanks for your time,

Looking forward for your reply,

Re: [SOLVED]Restore Grub2

You'll have to boot/chroot into your linux installation and then use grub-install again. At least that's what I would do.

Re: [SOLVED]Restore Grub2

As i just registered i wanna to say hello everybody smile

Now according to your question - just look at the Installation Guide. Mount everything to /mnt as it is said in point 5, then execute

arch-chroot /mnt

and

grub-install /dev/sda

or on whichever disk you want grub to reside. Done smile

Re: [SOLVED]Restore Grub2

You need to use a new arch install image in order to have arch-chroot. Probably you can use normal chroot (which is available on Ubuntu) instead but i'm not sure if it is gonna to work. You can always try.
