Just out of pure boredom and curiosity's sake, how many packages are in all the repositories of Arch Linux? Ever since I began using this distro, the amount of packages offered has increased to amazing amounts. Plus it helps when converting people to Arch to tell them about how much of a package selection the distro has.

I'm sure if you sat, thought a little bit, and used the tools at hand you could figure it out yourself. You're bored after all.

at the time of this post i've counted 1009 pkgs into current/unofficial/unstable trees..
im not counting incoming pkgs as arch pkgs because they still do not pass the test stage or the related developers (sarah and me) aproval.

Cool. I think it would be kind of nice if there could be some mention of that when looking through the packages, maybe like a count of how many packages were in official, unstable, or unofficial.
