I only started seeing these messages after updating my kernel. I compile the linux-ck kernel from the AUR.

They appear after the kernel is bootstrapped and right before KMS loads (I have it set to start right at the beginning of the boot process).

As far as I can tell, this doesn't look like it's affecting anything, I'd just like to know what it is in case it is a potential issue.

Many thanks in advance for any advice on this.

**EDIT**

I don't seem to receive these messages when booting the normal core kernel.

(Also, in case it matters, I'm using the BFQ patchset for BFS as my standard scheduler)

**EDIT 2 (Resolution)**

Well this was a short lived post!

I simply removed 'add_efi_memmap' from my kernel's boot line and it solved it smile

Re: [SOLVED] 'e820 too many entries' during boot

I saw this error also, after updating to the latest normal, vanilla Arch linux kernel package Linux arch64 5.1.6-arch1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri May 31 15:17:53 UTC 2019 x86_64 GNU/Linux.

Removing add_efi_memmap from my kernel boot line also made these messages go away.

Not entirely sure what the add_efi_memmap boot switch even does to begin with, I just read about it on the Arch wiki (I think anyway).

Anyway, thank you @Starfall for posting the solution.

Don't necrobump. Especially seven year old solved threads: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … bumping.22
