I just switched from GRUB2 to BURG to get some more eye candy but unfortunately BURG does not seem to set the framebuffer resolution along the boot process.
My native resolution is 1440x900 and thus I set GRUB_GFXMODE=1440x900x32 for GRUB2. Since that is seems to be not absolutely necessary with BURG, because you can set the resolution directly before booting, I left that at "saved" in /etc/default/burg. So I set BURG's resolution to 1440x900 but the console resolution defaults to 640x480 and Fbsplash says "Failed to load theme 'arch-black'". While booting, when the fbsplash daemon is starting, all characters up to that point turn to Cyrillic and other weird characters and the boot continues normally.
Is there anything I can do?
