Hello,
I am not able to mount shared folder on guest ArchLinux in virtualbox.
$ modprobe vboxsf
Does not give any errors
$ mount -t vboxsf shared /media/shared
Gives error -- /sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: No such file or directory
Can anyone please help me fix this error?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Vi … nux_guests
In the VM (VM = virtual machine), run:
# pacman -S virtualbox-archlinux-additions
# nano /etc/modules-load.d/vbox.conf
<add the modules according to the wiki and save with Ctrl+X>
# reboot
Then add it from Devices or from Settings.
I have made a personal commitment not to reply in topics that start with a lowercase letter. Proper grammar and punctuation is a sign of respect, and if you do not show any, you will NOT receive any help (at least not from me).

Please don't post the same question twice.

Cross-Posting
Cross-posting is posting the same question multiple times in different subforums (for example, posting in both Newbie Corner and Installation). This is a waste of resources and is not permitted. Any cross-posted topic will be immediately locked or deleted.
And look, you even posted in the same two subforums used in the example...

Hello 2ManyDogs,
If you do notice you would see & appreciate that i have better forum etiquette as compared to what we generally see on forums & message boards these days.
I have been concise, to the point and given as much information as possible in the first post. It was almost a day without any response and considering the forum activity going on here, i thought i posted in the wrong section or maybe had given too much information that confused people. So, i tried to find the section changer option, but could not. So, went on to post in the Installation section hoping this would be the correct section & trimmed the query to make it more simpler to understand.
But, i guess i was wrong, i got the solution to the problem in newbie section rather than here.
Then for the benefit of future visitors, I marked the thread solved on both and have linked the two threads. I think even you might have noticed after i mentioned it.
Sorry about that. I'll remember not to repeat. Thanks for taking trouble to mention it.
