X "stutters"

Hi everyone!

I've been having this problem for quite some time, and can't nail down exactly when it started.
I have one of those fancy optimus Nvidia / Intel combos and I've got all that running quite nicely
with one caveat -- stuttering!

Not just in video, it's like the video on my entire system will just "stutter" for a second or less.
This is running on the intel side of things, although it's also experienced when using things
through my nvidia card, since it's rendered through the intel card... sort of. smile

Mainly noticeable when watching movies, but also devastating when I'm playing supermeatboy
(less than half a second error in response time and you might as well give up! LOL!)

Any ideas or suggestions to fix this?  It's been driving me nuts!

Might be a long shot, but are you member of 'video' group?

Yeah, I am!  I'm thinking maybe some obscure hardware issue.

But I'm really hoping there is some boot parameter or something I can
use to make this not happen anymore!
