waimae-cvs for latest cairo release

has anyone been able to build waimea cvs using the latest cairo library? it doesn't look like the cvs has been updated in awhile and the current version is not up2date with the cairo api for the 1.0.0 release. i've been working on fixing this, but i thought maybe someone else already had and that maybe a patch existed?

well, i managed to make it compile with the newest cairo but now it segfaults upon startup. guess something needs to be looked at some more.

According to the waimea mailing list, it doesnt work with the latest version of cairo. However, there is a patch/workaround available. If you're interested, I can try to hunt it down.

I found the patch on the mailing list but haven't tried it yet. Right now I'm just sticking with fluxbox until I have some time to fool with it more..

Yes - cairo = crap!
Not that what they're doing isn't great, but they're development process needs some heavy help or else people are going to get frustrated... they change their API with every minor release and never inform anyone...
