Pulseaudio power consumption

When I play music on my laptop, powertop is showing this:

6.25 W    220.9 us/s      26.0        Process        /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --log-target=syslog

Is this comparable to what other people are seeing? Almost 7W seems a bit excessive for running a sound system, especially since its 6-7 times higher than anything else running on my computer.
I know the readings may be buggy, just trying to get to the bottom of this weird behavior.

This is an asus u41jf laptop running latest (3.5.3-2) linux-ck sources with BFS and BFQ schedulers (Both compiled in, but not enabled, anyone know the boot parameter for setting default cpu scheduler? xD)
