Capture card gets picked up but no programs see it

Hey all,

I just put my capture card (Blackmagic Intensity Pro) in my box and am trying to get it functioning.

I've installed the driver for the card which was available in the AUR (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=49351) and I see the device at /dev/blackmagic0. However, when I try to open the capture device in VLC I get the following:

[0x7f07b8001168] v4l2 demux error: no supported I/O method
libv4l2: error getting capabilities: Success
[0x7f07b8004cd8] v4l2 access error: no supported I/O method
libv4l2: error getting capabilities: Success
[0x7f07cc000b78] main input error: open of `v4l2:///dev/blackmagic0' failed

xawtv will not open it either. Not sure if it matters, but VLC actually doesn't even "see" the device and I have to type it in manually. I've done a modprobe and added the module to my rc.conf. Am I missing something?

Thanks for any help.
