Hello all:
Since about kernel 3.5 (maybe a 3.4.x point release) I've had an odd error concerning what I assume to be the graphics module. I'm using the poulsbo and psb_gfx kernel modules, and whenever I try to load X the screen is slanted sideways, and split into four separate screens that are mirrored. However, whenever I use the LTS kernel from [core], the issue is not there, and works normally. Would anyone have an idea as to what has changed since 3.3 or so that would interfere with this?
Model: eeePC 1201HA
lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation System Controller Hub (SCH Poulsbo) Graphics Controller (rev 07)
Information concerning the problem:
Xorg.0.log: http://pastebin.com/5qzDe3P3
dmesg: http://pastebin.com/T8puXXDv
lspci: http://pastebin.com/HiHT2D31
I generally launch X with lxdm, using "systemctl start lxdm.service" from a tty.
Update: This issue persists on Linux 3.6. Whenever I try to go back to a tty once I launch X, the mirrored and distorted screens are transferred to ttys as well.

There is an official page where we discuss the poulsbo driver. Look at the last page, maybe modesetting driver will help you.

Maevius, that post solved it, sort of. I'll mark it as solved, even though performance with the basic modesetting driver is quite bad, to say the least. At least I have a functioning desktop now. Thanks a lot.
