Samsung Galaxy S3 and MTP

Have been trying for a while to be able to access files on a Galaxy S3 with a USB cable and MTP.

I've searched a lot, but without finding a solution to actually get MTP working.

If I plug the phone into a windows machine, the files are accessible almost instantly, which is annoying.

Here is the output of some commands when I plug in the phone:

dmesg:

I have udev-android from the AUR installed.

I tried cloning the latest libmtp from SourceFourge

git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/libmtp/code libmtp-code

but it didn't seem to help.

# ./mtp-detect

Sometimes mtp-detect finds nothing, mostly it gives error in the first example above.

I know there are other ways to transfer files, and apps to allow you to mount external sd card in UMS mode, but I would really like to get MTP working.

Any help appreciated.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 and MTP

Search again, on these forums, as the same question has been asked about the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Nexus. Closing, you can request re-open if you verify that this is indeed SGS3 specific (I highly doubt so based on other things I've read concerning libmtp).
