Thanks! I'm working on a couple more ArchLinux/Tux wallpapers. One thing I don't like about this render is how grey and textureless the backdrop is (plus, the lighting/studio isn't perfect). Once I have those done I'll post some more and I'll keep your requests in mind. This scene takes my machine ~1hr to render at 1080p so I'd like to fix a few things before I start doing a bunch of renders.

This is really beautiful! I read you rendered it using blender, is this available for linux also or is it windows/mac only?

Criticism: Tux stands out too much, doesn't feel like he fits in. I think it would be really cool and better if you worked on his materials,  perhaps making him look like a plushy? You know a little furry.

He probably stands out due to the use of FoV in the render, you should be able to take that out of you re-render it yourself.

Thank you smile Yes, Blender works very well on Linux, you can get it from the official arch repo ($ sudo pacman -S blender). This image was modeled and rendered entirely on Arch Linux using Blender + Gimp for some touch-ups (I would never make an Arch Linux wallpaper on Windows/Mac, that's sacrilege tongue).

Thanks for the criticism as well. Like I mentioned above, I'm working on a couple improvements and different designs already. I'll keep your suggestion in mine while designing them.

It's probably just me, but I think the thumbnail of your wallpaper looks better than the fullview of it.

It reminds me of 10 years ago when everyone tried to make cheesy 3d wallpapers.
I hope you get past this to the cool shit that you are capable of.

lol, i agree. This is definitely just a simply render, and I don't like overly plain desktops either. I've got some better ideas, this was just the first render of my Tux model. Stay tuned.
