Sudden and random video crashes...

So in my desktop I have a Radeon 5770 that I use with three large monitors (all >22-inches and with resolutions of 1920x something). Every couple of days, the desktop will suddenly vanish and gray bars will appear across the screen. I have to force reboot at this point to be able to get back into Linux. It's frequent enough that it's becoming a bother....

Also, from time to time when I come out of sleep mode - the video will 'forget' to turn on. What I mean by that is, the screens act like they're disconnected. I'm not entirely sure if this is the video card though since my keyboard (G15) fails to turn on its LCD screen. I don't know how I would determine what's causing that.

Any idea if this is a driver problem, or a hardware problem? I'm using the newest Catalyst-hook drivers from the repository on the wiki.

I tried checking a few log files, but didn't really see much.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
