[SOLVED] CUPS, Can't add Epson printer through USB?

---EDIT---
under "lsusb" the device has been found, but with "ls -l /dev/bus/usb/001/005" i discovered that the device was only in the "scanner" group, like this:

lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 04b8:0849 Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus SX205
ls -l /dev/bus/usb/001/005
crw-rw-rw-+ 1 root scanner 189, 4 Oct 10 14:40 /dev/bus/usb/001/005

Later I discovered this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 9#p1037279
Where I created a rule in udev, even though i was not sure about it. On that post he said to edit /etc/udev/rules.d/10-cups_device_link.rules .
Since I didn't have that file, i created it and added the line.
I have also added it into the already existing file /etc/udev/rules.d/10-usbprinter.rules , just in case.
And it worked, the system-config-printer detected it, so it looks like its all good.
Now instead of "scanner" i have "lp", the way it has to be.

ls -l /dev/bus/usb/001/005
crw-rw-rw-+ 1 root lp 189, 4 Oct 10 14:40 /dev/bus/usb/001/005

/---EDIT---/

Hello,
I was trying to install the printer months ago, but always that I tried, bumped into the same thing, same now.

I was following the instructions on the wiki, though I might have missed something.

Situation:
---Cupsd daemon started every boot.
---Printer turned on later on.
---Dmesg detects it:

[21411.827898] usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci_hcd

[21418.268344] usb 1-3: usbfs: interface 1 claimed by usblp while 'colord-sane' sets config #1

By this I understand that usblp is activated and usbcore as well.

sudo nano /var/log/messages.log (copied the final lines)

(I suspect avahi cannot be the problem since its a local connection through USB, even so I tried starting the avahi-daemon.)

lsusb found it too: Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04b8:0849 Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus SX205

---Opened up: http://localhost:631/ , all cool. Add printer, login as root, all cool, except that I think in the Local printer section it should be added automatically, but its not there.

This is the "Add Printer" page:

Local Printers: CUPS-PDF (Virtual PDF Printer)
Discovered Network Printers:
Other Network Printers: Windows Printer via SAMBA
 Backend Error Handler
 Internet Printing Protocol (ipp)
 Internet Printing Protocol (ipps)
 Internet Printing Protocol (http)
 Internet Printing Protocol (https)
 LPD/LPR Host or Printer
 AppSocket/HP JetDirect

>>>So, i think that the "local printer CUPS-PDF" is simply to convert a document to PDF, so thats not good. And the others are for printers through the network.
( Even so, I tried some of them. Because I can. )

I have tried with the gnome printing gui thing. ( system-config-printer 1.3.10 )
It is connected to the "/var/run/cups/cups.sock" server. The other option is "localhost".
Mostly the same thing there as with the web interface, although I also get the option to write the URI...  (but I think that the URI is not necessary since it can be discovered directly, right?)

I have tried with kde's printing gui thing in system settings, and when trying to add new printer, i get:
'There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'cups-authorization-canceled'.

Sorry if this is way too long...
Honestly, i have no idea what could be the problem... Maybe permission error? missing module?

Thank you in advance for the helps & tips.
Cheers!
