failed to commit transaction(conflicting files)[SOLVED]

Hello,

I'm trying to install arch, but right at the second step I ran into a problem. When I issued the command

pacstrap /mnt base base-devel 

the programs start downloading and when all downloaded I got an error message: failed to commit transaction(conflicting files).

I read pacman wiki and it says in case you run into this error you have to use the –force command. However, in this case the download is triggered  by pacstrap rather than pacman, so I don't know how to issue the force command. So I am stuck. Any help would be appriciated.

I thought the partition I used to install arch was empty, but in fact, it was not. I reformatted the partition and now, everthing is all right.
