I was unable to install my Native Instruments Maschine controller with Wine. If this was possible, I would do this. (So if you know how to get it to run in Wine, please share! The installer keeps telling me to insert the original DVD)
Since I was not, I created a Windows 7 VM in Virtualbox. However, when I plug in the Maschine, I get a driver error. I manually install the provided drivers, but the driver error persists. It says the device cannot start.
Is there something that I forgot to configure in Arch, as far as USB goes? Any ideas?

After some research, I had to make a 'filter' in VirtualBox and enable 'EHCI' USB mode. Then it worked fine!

This is good to know, since I've been thinking about doing the same thing. Thanks!

Hi, I successfully installed maschine under wine. Everything works except two things:
- no sound is produced
- unable to connect to usb controler

Yet I did not try with wine4asio! (so boring to build...)

Also, I found the following information from the Alsa project that might let the Maschine work natively, rather than in a VM. http://alsa-project.org/main/index.php/ … nstruments

stkerr, I installed asio4wine, and I have nice sounds comming out of maschine ;-)
The last step is to get the controller to work with wine.
