Thunar doesn't show the partitions mounted in fstab[SOLVED]

Hi everyone,
I am running XFCE 4.10 in archlinux and today when i added couple of partitions to fstab and rebooted my system I noticed that thunar doesn't show the partitions that I added to my fstab. what should i do to make it appear in thunar ?
here is my fstab:

/dev/sda5 /media/disk ntfs-3g defaults 0 0
/dev/sda2 /media/disk-1 ntfs-3g defaults 0 0

Re: Thunar doesn't show the partitions mounted in fstab[SOLVED]

When you have Thunar open, at the top where it shows you where you are in the filesystem you can drag those to the left pane to bookmark them.  It should work with NTFS folders, with SAMBA shares however Thunar will not remember those the next time you run it/reboot.

Re: Thunar doesn't show the partitions mounted in fstab[SOLVED]

Can you mount them by hand? Do the mount points exist?
I've googled a bit and all the solutions boiled down to 'thunar can't do that, use some other file manager': http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/35134/#p35134
The only thing that came close is what headkase posted.

Re: Thunar doesn't show the partitions mounted in fstab[SOLVED]

the thing is if i don't have the partitions mounted in fstab it appears on the left hand side panel ... and asks me enter my password for mounting ... but if i add the partitions to the fstab it doesn't show on the left hand side panel how ever if i go to /media/sda5 i am able to access the files..

Edit: according to the thread it seems like it is a deliberate measure from the developers.
The solution to this is to create a shortcut for that particular partition !

Re: Thunar doesn't show the partitions mounted in fstab[SOLVED]

Maybe an old thread, but I came up with a different solution. By default Thunar mounts NTFS partitions under

/run/media/<username>/<UUID of NTFS drive> .

If the fstab is updated with a path different from above for your NTFS partitions, they end up not being displayed in bookmarks.

So, to overcome this, create your mount points in

/run/media/<username>/<mount point dir>

and point to those dirs while adding entries to fstab.

Also, if the mountpoint is within your home folder then Thunar will show it in the side pane and clicking it mounts it and right-click gives the option to unmount.

But, yeah, dead threads should be left dead..  I'm only replying because I was one of the original participants.
