[Solved] missing pacman databases

Somehow I am missing critical pacman databases from one of the two computers I have running Arch:

    /var/lib/pacman/core
    /var/lib/pacman/extra
    /var/lib/pacman/community
    /var/lib/pacman/core.db.tar.gz
    /var/lib/pacman/extra.db.tar.gz
    /var/lib/pacman/community.db.tar.gz
    /var/lib/pacman/local.db.tar.gz

There are only two folders in /var/lib/pacman, namely:
    local
    sync

... both populated.

When trying to update (pacman -Syu), or query (pacman -Ss) I get the same error message:
    error: GPGME error: No data

I have looked this error message up in this forums but no problem quite like mine evident. Both machines are updated together, and the one is running just fine.

Thanks

Re: [Solved] missing pacman databases

Not sure why it is, but did you try 'pacman -Syy' to go get new databases?

Re: [Solved] missing pacman databases

I had tried pacman -Syy earlier in my troubleshooting efforts, to no avail. Just tried it again, with mixed results. Here is my output:

error: GPGME error: No data
error: GPGME error: No data
error: GPGME error: No data
:: Synchronizing package databases...

After that everything appears to be functioning as it should. However the folders and files indicated in my first post are still missing.

So.. what's the problem?

wormzy@sakura[pts/3]~$ ls /var/lib/pacman
local sync

Sakura:-
Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO // Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.4GHz // GFX: nVidia GeForce GTX 970 Ti // RAM: 32GB (4x 8GB) Corsair DDR3 (@ 2133MHz) // Storage: 1x 3TB Seagate SATAII 5x 1TB Samsung SATAII, 2x 120GB Corsair SSD

Making lemonade from lemons since 2015.

Re: [Solved] missing pacman databases

This may be way off base, but how about trying pacman-key --init to reinitialize the GPG keyring pacman uses?

Edit: on the folder "issue", I'm with WorMzy. I've only got those two folders, the databases are stored in sync.
