Hi,
I am trying to get transparency to work with my current fluxbox installation. I searched the forum quite a bit but did not find anything that would help. I have the Composite Extension in my xorg.conf, but still cant get it to work. I know there is xcompmgr, but it takes the whole transparency away from the windows being in focus. The native fluxbox one doesnt, right?
Does anybody know how to make that work??
Thanks!!!!

What are you trying to do exactly? Fluxbox handles transparency fine for me, I think you need to have xcompmgr running in the background though for it to work.

I see - I thought that tool is an alternative to the stuff implemented in fluxbox. I am going to try that out once I am home.
Thanks!

I could be wrong, I haven't used Composite for a while. I intend to give it another go in X.org 6.9.0/7.0, whichever is coming up as I've heard a lot of work has gone into it.

I tried it. It works. Thanks. But it is really slow so I will drop it again. If you move the window around it hardly follows my mouse. Anyway, thanks for the help.

You have direct rendering working?
