Hello all,
As some of you probably know, Gstreamer 1.0 was released about 10 days ago.
This new stable release is based on the 0.11 series and hence offer a different API comparing to the 0.10 series.
I realize that while the applications depending on it don't make the necessary port it's of little use, but was interested if there's a "general concept" of its future in Arch.
That is, when will Arch packages be made available, so once applications are ported to support it a package will already be available.
Thanks, Adam.

I believe gnome 3.6 requires it, so it will be released for arch whenever gnome 3.6 is. Since it can be installed side-by-side with the older gstreamer, everything should keep working until apps get ported over.

Allan's link tells all. Good luck with it.
On the other hand there is one always recurring answer: It will be available when it is ready.
Closing.
To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.
